Recycling Program

We’re committed to closing the loop in our recycling efforts. When you bring your used pots and trays to us, we ensure they are recycled and reused to create new pots, by teaming up with closed-loop horticulture manufacturer East Jordan Plastics.

How to Recycle: 

  • Must Be Black Plastic Nursery Pots & Trays & Plant Tags, free of soil. 

Drop-off at B&B: 

  • During business hours, at our Laurel Greenhouses. Please leave your used pots and trays on the pallet labeled ‘Plastic Recycling’ to the left of the loading dock. 

In-Season Pick-Up SPRING: 

  • Multiple Deliveries : If you get multiple deliveries, we can pick up your recycling at any time. Simply leave them with the driver at the time of delivery.
  • Encourage your customers to drop off their used pots and trays with you!

End-Season Pick-Up JUNE: 

  • Pick-Up Scheduling: If you are interested in a June Pick Up, we will update you before the season starts if we are able to service your location. 

In-Season Pick Up FALL:

  • If you need more time for pot collection, or we don’t get to you in the late spring. We can pick-up again along with your fall plant order or by scheduling it with us in advance. 

We collect #6, #5, and #2 containers, most common in horticulture). Nesting-like containers help with efficient pickups, but there’s no need to separate them by type.

SOLAR

At our Mattituck facility, we have taken steps to reduce our carbon footprint by installing a 262-panel solar system that offsets up to 75% of our electrical needs.

REDUCE, RECYCLE, REUSE

We are committed to the principles of the 3 R’s and actively work to incorporate them into our practices. Our approach is rooted in transparency and intention regarding the products we choose. We prioritize alternatives to plastic, utilize post-consumer recycled materials, and avoid products made from 100% virgin plastic.
