Planting Hope Project

The Planting Hope Project was created in 2013 to honor our beloved founder, Kathryn Pufahl. Each year, we dedicate one intentional plant in memory of a cherished honoree who has passed, directing 100% of the proceeds to a foundation or organization close to their heart. Through this act, we honor their legacy into a living, positive impact that uplifts their memory and inspires hope.

Planting Hope Honoree 2026

This season, we are honored to dedicate the Planting Hope Project to the memory of Jeanne Lukins, mother of our cherished team member Deborah Gajeski and grandmother of her daughter Abigail. Jeanne, a breast cancer survivor for nearly fifteen years, passed away suddenly in March 2024. She will be remembered for her compassion, love of animals—especially cats, birds, and hummingbirds—and her devotion to caring for those around her.

In her memory, we are proud to donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Pentas ‘Abby’ to The Baldwin Fund, supporting breast cancer and other cancer research in the Syracuse area.
